Our Programs

  • Pre-School Dance

A unique program for children aged 5-years-old and under which is expertly designed to allow them to experience the joy of music and dance while still learning proper dance technique.

At this age, children learn most effectively with simple exercises, storytelling, creative movement, props, constant reassurance and guidance.

All classes are 45-minutes long. We also offer Mommy & Me classes for
    2-year-olds.

  • School Dance

A premier dance education. In our youth program classes, students will be properly guided through all areas of dance instruction. Our age-appropriate classes develop proper body placement, coordination, rhythm, balance, strength and flexibility.

In addition, students practice performance work and develop self-confidence and poise. Students will also learn to be respectful of peers and use their “dance room” manners.

Class placement is by discretion of faculty.

  • Acuity Competition Team

Acuity Dancers is a studio company for serious young dancers committed to exploration and excellence within the art of dance. Members take daily technique classes, attend competitions and conventions, participate in workshops, engage in community work, and receive personalized mentorship.

Participation is by invitation and audition only. All dancers and families must be dedicated to the program and demonstrate integrity and decorum. Program begins each year at the end of August.

  • Summer Session

Our summer dance program offers a flexible and fun way for students to stay active, explore new styles, and continue developing their technique during the summer months.

Classes are available for all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced, and include ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and acro-dance. Students will build strength, coordination, and artistry in a creative and supportive environment.

Class Descriptions

  • Ballet

A classical dance form consisting of precise movements and body positions. Students who practice ballet develop correct posture, body alignment, grace, poise, and technical versatility. As the basis of Western dance forms, including jazz and lyrical dance, it is highly encouraged for all young dancers. Students should consider taking two or three classes a week in order to develop strong technique in all areas of dance.

  • Jazz

A versatile dance style characterized by dynamic quality and muscle isolations. This dance form is represented in musicals, contemporary dance, and dance conservatories. Dancers build balance, body control, and strength in order to build technical skills for jumping, leaping, and turning. All jazz students are highly-encouraged to enroll in a minimum of one ballet class. Class placement is by discretion of faculty.

  • Tap

A dance style characterized by the percussive movements of the feet. The exercises are excellent for rhythm and coordination. This dance form is fun and challenging because the dancer also becomes a drummer! All students must have tap shoes.

  • Lyrical

A combination of ballet, jazz, and modern styles of dance. Students are encouraged to interpret and express the lyrics and quality of the music. This popular dance style requires strong ballet technique, control and flexibility. It can also be referred to as contemporary style. All lyrical students should be concurrently enrolled in a minimum of one ballet class.

Caregivers and their little ones will enjoy learning basic dance steps and routines through simple movements, songs, props, and games.
